mission

design for all...

The mission is to pair owners who have lost their homes with architects and contractors to quickly design and rebuild their new home.

Many people never considered the thought of designing their own home or having access to a design of their own - they simply buy what is on the market when they are ready to buy.

The hope, is that, for those that have lost everything, the silver lining is that they can now change the things they would have changed about their previous home. Modify the layout? The internal organization? The exterior materials? The landscaping...

We've been hearing interest from architects and designers across the country wanting to help. Shelter is their calling. The idea is that these solo architects, or firms, can take on the design on an at-cost basis or perhaps even pro-bono. They can meet with owners in person or virtually and create a scheme in a short matter of time. As soon as the concept is hatched, we bring the local contractors into the conversation and get a set of permit and working drawings underway ASAP.

Imagine a new design district in Santa Rosa where each house has a distinctly unique look and feel. This is an opportunity to create a beautiful living monument to those affected by this disaster. This is an opportunity for personalized architecture and design to be accessible to people of all levels of wealth and all scales of living.
